Departments and Subjects
Students attend specialist classes at least once during the school week with the exception of Arabic Department and PE classes which are conducted more often. A brief description follows each specialist class:
Music: Sing, say, dance, and play! That’s what it’s all about it music class. Music begins in KG1, wherein students learn to use the instrument they are given at birth: their voice! Students will explore body percussion sounds and later develop skills on various percussion instruments. Movement will also be used as a means to explore creative expression and collaboration with peers. Students will also gain knowledge of the rhythmic and melodic structure of music, which will help them improvise and compose their own musical ideas.
Art: Classes begin in the Art Room for KG1 wherein students explore art in many ways. They participate in creative art with clay and other materials as well as participating in field trips to various museums in the local area. Our Art teacher ensures that projects are tied in with the Unit of Inquiry being studied within the homeroom class.
Physical Education: Begins in KG1 wherein students participate in various activities including sports and games.
