Re-enrolment Fees

To secure a seat for the next academic year, parents are required to pay a re-enrolment fee.

This fee is non-refundable, but it is adjustable against the first term fees.

Please note, students who are unable to be registered with the Ministry due to missing required documentation, or students with an outstanding fee balance, will not be able to re-enroll for the next academic year.

Payment Policies

The tuition fees are due prior to the start of the academic year and payable in advance of attendance, at the start of each term. Tuition fees will be invoiced from the time of admission to ensure that payments can be processed before the start of the term. If your circumstances change, it is essential that you contact us in advance of the deadline so that we can guide you on available options. Please note, all tuition fees are in accordance with the fee structure established by GEMS Education under the guidance of ADEK established School Fee Framework.

As a GEMS premium school, our fees are inclusive of all:

  • Textbooks
  • Supplementary books
  • Materials

Fees are not inclusive of uniforms, lunches or school transport.

The school operates a bus service on a fee-for-service basis. Please contact our Administration Officer for further details on bus services.

Methods of Payment

Payment of the first term’s fees is due on or before the first day of the academic year.

We accept the following methods of payment:

  • Cash
  • Current-dated cheque (made out to GEMS World Academy, Abu Dhabi)
  • Credit card

Wire transfer (please contact our accounts department for details - [email protected])

Disclaimer: “Please note that school fees for the upcoming academic year are subject to change in accordance with Article 51 the Bylaw of Federal Law No. (28) of 1999 Concerning Private Education and applicable regulations.”

  • Company Benefits

Please note, if your employer provides education benefits, they may not be considered a ‘Company Pay’ account for GEMS World Academy.

Parents should check their employer’s with the Registrar, as they may have to pay the tuition first and then be reimbursed by their employer.

  • Company Accounts

Companies and organizations with a current account with GEMS World Academy, Abu Dhabi, are requested to provide parents of new students with a letter stating that they will be responsible for the payment of tuition and fees.

The company is then required to pay the registration fee and tuition for the current semester, within 30 days of the date the new student is accepted for enrollment.

  • Parent Pay Accounts

Payment invoices and receipts cannot be split between the parent and a sponsoring company.

If a company’s policy does not provide for full payment of school fees, the student account will be shown as a parent pay in the school’s records. This requires parents to pay the registration fee and tuition fee for the current semester upon initial enrollment and before class attendance.

Parents should then seek reimbursement from their company.

Refunds

The school may retain a certain amount of the tuition fees in any of the following:

  • If a student attends any part of week one of the term or fails to show up at all without the Parent/Guardian notifying the school in writing sufficiently in advance before the beginning of a term. In such a case, the school may retain the value of the registration or re-registration fees.
  • If a student attends from one week and up to three weeks in a term, the school may retain the value of one full month of tuition fees.
  • If a student attends over three weeks and up to six weeks in a term, the school may retain the value of two full months of tuition fees.
  • If a student attends over six weeks in a term, the school may retain the full term fee.

Withdrawing from School

All notices of withdrawal must be in writing to the Registrar. The school requires a minimum of 2 weeks notification of withdrawal. Parents are responsible for completing the online Transfer Certificate (TC) request on GEMS PARENT PORTAL. In the event of outstanding books, fees or fines, the school will not release records nor issue a Transfer Certificate.
