IBPYP Parent Guides

Parental involvement is encouraged and valued within the IB philosophy as part of a wider collaborative learning community.

There are many ways that parents can play a vital role in their child’s PYP journey.

Involvement in learning:

Participate in your child’s learning experience through shared projects at home, asking your child about what they are learning, supporting their personal inquiries and desire to take meaningful action.

Communication:

Engage with newsletters, online portfolios (Seesaw), meetings and student-led conferences.

Support:

Volunteer, share your expertise with classes around important issues, provide resources.

Understand:

Attend workshops around key aspects of the PYP, reach out to teachers and the PYP coordinators for more information or visit the IBO site for a range of parent resources.
